Nico
Christa Päffgen, better known as Nico (born Cologne, Germany, October 16, 1938 - Ibiza, Spain, July 18, 1988) was a singer, model and actress in Germany. Is known both for his work with The Velvet Underground, for his solo work.
Although best known for his musical work, also had a small handful of film roles, including a cameo appearance in the acclaimed film by Federico Fellini, 1960, La Dolce Vita. Was a close friend and artistic collaborator of Andy Warhol, so she also acted in several roles in experimental art films, especially Chelsea Girls, which later inspired the title of its debut album. He died on July 18, 1988, following a bicycle accident. Hermann had kinship with Päffgen, who founded the brewery in 1883 in Cologne Päffgen. 1969
"The Marble Index The Marble Index
is the second solo album by Nico, recorded in 1968 and released in 1969. The album featured a asociacon with John Cale, Cale had extensive experience in advanced settings-more, in collaboration with minimalist composer LaMonte Young, among others.
Nico wrote all her own songs the disc and plays the harmonium.
